Aboriginal Health Symposium

June 21 is National Aboriginal Day in Canada. The Faculty of Medicine would like to celebrate the innovative and interesting education and research initiatives occurring at Memorial University of Newfoundland in collaboration with our Aboriginal People as part of National Aboriginal Day with an Aboriginal Health Symposium. It will feature keynote speaker Dr. Michael Dan. Dr. Dan is a former neurosurgeon and one of Ontario’s most generous philanthropists, supporting hospitals, local charities, First Nations health, and human rights initiatives. Dr. Dan’s presentation is entitled The impact of colonization on the health of Indigenous people in Canada.In addition, the symposium will feature oral and poster presentations of research related to Aboriginal health.
