Did you know that St. John’s has a vibrant, active, and supportive entrepreneurial community? We do, and we want to introduce you!
MCE has partnered with our friends at Genesis to host a social for anyone involved in the entrepreneurial community! Verafin has kindly offered to host this event in their impressive and inspiring space!
This is your chance to meet, learn, and build your support network with aspiring and serial entrepreneurs, developers, investors, business folks, funders, support organizations, and everyone in between. The theme of the evening will be on failure and risk-taking in startups.
Not convinced you need a support network? Networking plays an essential role in starting, and growing a startup and it is never too soon or too late to gain the benefits of being involved and active in your startup community. You can read more about the many reasons to network HERE.

*This event is being held at Verafin, located on 18 Hebron Way. There will be a bus leaving from Memorial’s St. John’s campus for students. Sign up for the bus when you book your FREE ticket.
Who is Verafin, and why is the event held in their office?
Verafin was born in 2003, when their founders (and Memorial graduates!) Jamie King, Raymond Pretty and Brendan Brothers decided to take the technology they used to build robots for the mining industry and apply it in a new way to help fight financial crime. Verafin is now one of the North American leaders in fraud detection and AML software. You’ll find their software in over 2600 banks and credit unions across North America and employ over 400 people (mostly in Newfoundland!). They are big supporters and contributors to the NL entrepreneurial community, oh and they have a super kick-ass inspiring office space!!
