Facilitating Interactive Teaching Online with Zoom
Thursday, July 9, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Learning through the means of online tools has become a necessity living in the midst of Covid-19. The question is how can we create the same interactive, collaborative environment online, that naturally occurs when we teach our students in-person?
The goal of this session is to answer that question. We will be sharing strategies and tools to help increase student engagement and interaction. As instructors and learners, we are all adapting to the online learning platform. Through our experience thus far in teaching online, there are a number of things that we have discovered and are eager to share what we have found to be successful and things that should be avoided. Furthermore, in this session we hope to facilitate a discussion and collaboration on providing our students with the best possible online learning environment. This session will take place using Zoom, and although we will be discussing some specific tools within Zoom that can be utilized to enhance the online learning experience, much of what we will discuss can be applied to another online learning platform.
