From the Greenhouse Effect to Life Detection in the Solar System: The Importance of Methane

Tuesday, March 21, 7-8:30 p.m.

IIC-2001, Bruneau Centre for Research and Innovation

The March WISE NL lecture features Dr. Penny Morrill, a biogeochemist with Memorial University’s Department of Earth Sciences. As the recipient of the 2015 Terra Nova Young Innovator award, Penny has worked on research spanning environmental and astrobiological fields of study. Penny will discuss how her research group uses the rocks and groundwater of NL to explore questions of greenhouse gas fluxes, carbon sequestration, and life detection on other worlds. All are welcome and the event is free. For more information about the event and to register go to http://wisenl.ca/.
