Programming Workshop: Unix Shell, Version Control and Python

Using software-carpentry.org materials this workshop introduces the fundamentals of the Unix Shell, Version Control with Git and Python. 

It will be hands-on and cover the fundamentals of Python, including data types, conditional statements, loops and functions, as well as program design, version control, data management, and task automation. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems. The goal is to teach the practical knowledge needed to start programming, debugging and using Python in everyday tasks.
