Scholars At Risk

Scholars at Risk is an international network of institutions and individuals whose mission it is to protect scholars and promote academic freedom, most notably by arranging temporary academic positions for scholars facing grave threats. In this public event, Dr. Melanie Adrian (Associate Professor at Carleton University) will be discussing her work as Chair of Scholars at Risk National Steering Committee. Dr. Adrian will share her experiences welcoming persecuted academics from around the world and promoting academic freedom. She will also discuss how Memorial University can continue its support for this Scholar here at MUN in the near future.
