This fall, Memorial introduces The New Class.

The web series follows a group of new students as they experience Memorial’s St. John’s campus in the 2016-17 academic year.

Through their eyes, we encounter the opportunities and challenges new students face throughout their first year of life at university in St. John’s, N.L.

The New Class features 10 students from across the province and around the world.

The project was created by Memorial’s Office of the Deputy Provost (Students) and the Office of Student Recruitment. The offices are producing and overseeing the project in collaboration with two current students in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Rodrigo Iniguez and Conor McCann.

Mr. Iniguez is the videographer and editor for the project, and is a current student in the communications studies program. Mr. McCann is the interviewer, narrator/host and scheduler for the project, and is pursuing a double major in English and history. The second camera is operated by Fakhri Matar.

The series will include eight webisodes in fall 2016 and eight more in winter 2017, including a season finale.

To discover whether you’re #teamrowan or maybe #teamsierra, check MemorialUVideos on YouTube to catch the weekly webisodes.
