Justin Drover, a B.Sc.(Hons.) student in the Department of Psychology, has received the 2017 Pro Vice-Chancellor’s Prize for his paper, Stayin’ Alive: The Role of Tympanal Hearing in the Detection and Evasion of Predators by the Insect Family Noctuidae. The paper was originally written as an assignment for Dr. Tom Chapman’s third-year entomology class and scored 100 per cent. As the Pro Vice-Chancellor’s Prize winner, Mr. Drover can choose between a $500 cash prize or a $1,000 fellowship towards a Memorial University graduate program.
