SKY Happiness Retreat
Friday, July 11, 6-9 p.m.
UC-2001
Post-pandemic, mental health issues in the student population have increased significantly. To equip students with mental health tools and create positive social connections, we are hosting the SKY Happiness Retreat on-campus from July 11th-13th (in-person), which is an evidence-based well-being program & mental health resource that many students can benefit from. Recent research from Yale has found the program to be very effective. For all active Memorial students, the retreat is being offered as a partially-funded program for $75. The SKY Happiness Retreat is a high-impact 12-hour total well-being training offered to thousands of university students, faculty, and staff across North America including Harvard, Stanford, Purdue, Yale & MIT. A recent study at Yale University found that the SKY Happiness Retreat significantly reduces stress, depression, and has a long-lasting impact on mental health, mindfulness, positive emotion and social connectedness. The SKY Happiness Retreat introduces SKY Meditation, an evidence-based meditation practice integrated with breath work that can significantly increase one’s well-being and calmness, and significantly reduces anxiety and stress markers. The course features interactive group processes, experiential learning, emotional intelligence training, breath-work, yoga, and evidence-based meditation. It’s one of the coolest places to connect with yourself, make new friends, and most importantly, have fun!
The timings are Friday, July 11, from 6:00-9:00 pm and 11:00 am – 3:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13. Due to funding availability, spots are very limited. Here is the link to apply: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfR6PA07aB8VQhaDnSdriqarW3jkaQXfkw7JMxd3VfPtMTQgg/viewform
