Grand Opening: WATERR Lab
Monday, Sept. 29, 12-1 p.m.
AS2028, Grenfell Campus
You are warmly invited to the Grand Opening of the WATERR Lab (Wellness And Transformative Engagement in Research Relationships Lab) — an Indigenous health lab created by Mi’kmaq scholar and Assistant Professor (Faculty of Nursing, Grenfell Campus Memorial University) Dr. Erica (Samms) Hurley to support community-led, ethical, and culturally grounded research and wellness initiatives. The event will take place on Monday, 29 September 2025, from 12:00–1:00 PM, immediately following the TRC event (11:00 AM–12:00 PM) at Grenfell Campus. Light snacks will be provided.
The WATERR Lab (an Indigenous Health Lab) was formed in 2024 and aims to be a welcoming, inclusive space for community members, students, staff, and academics to come together. As an Indigenous health lab, we are dedicated to uplifting communities through interconnected, community-based research grounded in Indigenous knowledge and ethics. We invite you to join us to celebrate the launch, learn about the lab’s vision and activities, and share ideas about moving the lab forward. waterrlab.ca
