A concept is a core term that we use when engaging in a research topic. Concepts are terms we use for classifying, describing, and explaining aspects of our research field. Education, for example, is a concept. Other concepts might be training or facilitation. Each means something slightly different. We need to explain our concepts to avoid misunderstandings and because meanings change over time. Concepts are often tied to worldviews, consequently, we need to justify our assumptions and offset disputes.
