December UDL CoP Seminar

The Universal Design for Learning Community of Practice is pleased to welcome Dr. Kelly Shorlin, Laboratory Instructor at Memorial University, as our December seminar facilitator.

Dr. Shorlin will share insights from a project redesigning first-year physics labs using UDL principles. Traditionally, instructions in physics labs have been delivered exclusively through written materials, with assessment based solely on written lab reports. This presentation highlights how offering multiple means of instruction (e.g., videos and demonstration setups) and multiple methods of evaluation during the lab period can increase student engagement, accessibility, and learning.

Join us to learn how these UDL-informed changes supported students’ learning needs and what lessons might be transferable to other teaching contexts.
