In this UDL Community of Practice seminar, Elaina Fennell (she/her) and Alison Edwards (she/her), both K-12 Program Specialists with NLSchools, explore ideas of building learner agency within the NL K-12 school system. Through discussion of their personal learning journeys into UDL including lessons learned from their students, they hope to build understanding of the facets of learner agency in all aspects of life.
Topics include:
– Learner agency and the role it plays in all facets of life
– Applications of UDL in K-12 curriculum settings
– Understanding of learners with diverse backgrounds and skills
– Importance of setting learning goals
– UDL-aligned strategies for development of student agency within a K-12 curriculum environment
