Dr. Francesca Kerton

Dr. Francesca Kerton, a professor with the Department of Chemistry, has been selected as an associate member of the Committee on Chemical Research Applied to World Needs, or CHEMRAWN, a standing committee of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). IUPAC serves to advance the worldwide aspects of chemical science and to contribute to the application of chemistry in the service of humankind. CHEMRAWN focuses on strategic activities in concert with IUPAC goals, such as advancing global issues; advancing research through scientific discussion; assisting industry towards sustainable development, wealth creation and improvement of the quality of life; fostering communication among chemists and organizations with special emphasis on developing countries; enhancing education and the application of chemistry globally and increasing the diversity of IUPAC bodies.
