Dr. Robert Meadus

Dr. Robert Meadus, associate professor, School of Nursing, was presented with the Gene Tranbarger Writing Award at the 2016 American Assembly for Men in Nursing Conference in Miami, Fla., in September 2016. Dr. Meadus was recognized for his works and publications on nursing students, career satisfaction and barriers for practising male nurses. He has a longstanding track record of high-quality publications, of which Men Student Nurses: The Nursing Education Experience, can be found in the 2011 edition of the journal Nursing Forum. Most recently, he co-authored a piece with Dr. C. Twomey titled, Men Nurses in Atlantic Canada: Career Choice, Barriers and Satisfaction, printed in the Journal of Men’s Studies this year.
