At the Co-ordination Committee for Newcomer Integration at the Association of New Canadians in St. John’s Feb. 2, Gabriel Williams presented The Shifting Landscape of Canadian Immigration Policy: A Critical Review of Current and Projected Immigration Policies. The presentation focused on his work on how the new Liberal government’s proposed changes will affect immigration policies and determining their impacts on newcomer groups, the labour market, employers nationally and specifically in Newfoundland and Labrador. Mr. Williams is a research assistant for Dr. Tony Fang, a professor in the Department of Economics and the Stephen Jarislowsky Chair of Cultural and Economic Transformation
