Dr. Kimberly Maich

Kimberly Maich, associate professor of special education, Faculty of Education, presented a paper titled What’s Before the iPad? Teaching the Basic Prerequisite Skills for iPad Use at the Ontario Council for Exceptional Children at the council’s annual conference in Toronto, Ont., recently. These outcomes represent a joint project with Carmen Hall, Fanshawe College; Steve Sider, Laurier University; and graduate student Megan Henning, Brock University. The paper will be published in December’s Research to Practice: Division of Autism and Developmental Disabilities Online Journal. Along with Dr. Sider, Laurier University, and Jhonel Morvan, education officer, Prof. Maich led a panel titled Caring and Safe Schools: How Principals Can Foster a Culture of Inclusion for Students with Special Education Needs. This presentation was supported by a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Insight Development Grant.
