The School of Graduate Studies at Memorial University’s St. John’s campus will hold the 2025 Canadian Eastern Regional 3MT® competition in person on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 1:00 – 4:00 PM NDT. The competition will take place in the Multipurpose Room (CSF-1302), Core Science Facility, on the St. John’s Campus.

Join us to engage with the top local 3MT winners from 16 universities across Canada as they compete to present their amazing research concisely in just 3 minutes. Network with them during breaks and cheer them on! This is also a great opportunity for thesis-based graduate students who are interested in competing in Memorial University’s St. John’s campus annual local 3MT competition in November 2025 to learn more.

The 3MT challenges students to consolidate their ideas and discoveries and present them concisely to a non-specialist audience within a strict three-minute timeframe, ensuring that anyone can easily grasp the essence of a student’s Master’s or PhD research. The competition also helps cultivate students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills. Engaging prizes will be awarded to the top three winners.
