40th Annual Alumni Tribute Awards

The 40th annual Alumni Tribute Awards takes place on Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. NT at the Emera Innovation Exchange.
Celebrating alumni excellence, the recipients of this year’s annual awards are:
- Alumnus of the Year: Dr. Liqin Chen (PhD’93)
- J.D. Eaton Award: Peg Hunter (B.Comm.(Hons.)(Co-op.)’82)
- Outstanding Community Service Award: Lori Pike (B.Comm.(Co-op.)’95, MBA’00)
- Horizon Award: Jason-Louis Carmichael (BRM’11)
For the first time since 2006, this year’s event includes an award that is only given to exemplary candidates or groups who do not fit into another category and is designated by the Alumni Tribute Awards Selection Committee under special circumstances.
Luminus Award: Verafin founders Jamie King (Dip.Tech.(MI)’94, B.Eng.’99), Brendan Brothers (B.Eng.’02) and Raymond Pretty (B.Eng.’01)

This year’s event features host of CBC’s Here and Now Anthony Germain, a performance by Eastern Owl, Dr. Jennifer Lokash returns as orator. As is tradition, there will be a video featuring the work and life of the Alumni of the Year recipient.
