Join us for an afternoon film screening of the documentary JARA: Radioactive Patriarchy, with introductory remarks from the filmmaker, Aigerim Seitenova!

In 2003, the Gender Studies departmental seminar room was named in honour of Sally Davis, recognizing her work promoting women’s rights, peace, and social justice. We continue to honour her legacy through this memorial event in her name, screening a documentary about the gendered impacts of nuclear testing in Qazaqstan. The documentary was created by Aigerim Seitenova, a third-generation survivor of Soviet nuclear testing and Co-Founder of the Qazaq Nuclear Frontline Coalition.
