Public health interventions are increasingly subject to cost effectiveness analysis to ensure good use of increasingly scarce resources. This workshop aims to provide participants with an introduction to cost effectiveness analyses. It will cover basic concepts and definitions in cost effectiveness, distinction between different types of cost effectiveness, methods for measuring costs and effectiveness. Real-world examples of cost effectiveness analyses will be provided to help participants develop an ability to appreciate and appraise the growing literature in this area.
