Body Works: A Public Exhibition

Celebrate Memorial University’s 100th anniversary with Body Works – A Public Exhibition on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Faculty of Medicine, St. John’s campus. This unique event revives the powerful anatomical exhibit created by Dr. Shakti Chandra, Professor Emerita and renowned anatomy educator, featuring real plastinated human specimens.

Dr. Chandra, who trained under the inventor of plastination in Germany, will be present at the event to share insights from her groundbreaking work in medical education and community outreach. With visual displays, interactive learning stations and volunteer student ambassadors, this is a rare chance to engage directly with the science of the human body in an ethical, educational and hands-on environment.

This event is free to attend, but registration is required.
It is open to alumni, students, educators, families and the general public.
