Building From Memory: Recreating the Danger Tree
Friday, May 1, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
Queen Elizabeth ll Library, St. John's campus
For generations, the Danger Tree has been one of the most powerful reminders of the First World War.
Members of the university community and the public are invited to a rare opportunity to see a carefully crafted replica of the Danger Tree before it journeys to its permanent home at the Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial in France. Memorial University’s Department of Technical Services, in partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada, created the replica.
There will be a special reception from 11 a.m. – noon and the Danger Tree is available for viewing from noon – 8 p.m.
Parking is available in lot 17 in front of the Bruneau Centre for Research and Innovation.
