CITL Instructor Series: Artificial Intelligence – Ethical Considerations
Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2-3 p.m.
ED-1001; online
Presenters: Dr. Arthur Sullivan, Professor, Department of Philosophy and Dylan White, PhD Candidate
Over the past few years, AI models like ChatGPT have captured the attention of academics, business owners and everyday users, but not without raising apprehensions about data privacy, bias in AI, ethics and accuracy. Having a sound understanding of AI’s function in society, will allow us to make informed decisions around our own use, be it professional or personal.
Please join Dr. Arthur Sullivan, Professor of Philosophy and Dylan White, PhD Candidate, as they share their perspective on how AI is pervading everything from banking, healthcare, policing, and so on, and the attendant ethical challenges (privacy, liability, ownership of data, etc.) one is faced with as we engage with this ever-evolving technology.
