CITL Instructor Series: Flexible Assignments and Universal Design in Learning in Practice

Tuesday, March 24, 2-3 p.m.

Online

The presenter for this session is Dr. Amy Todd, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Science, Department of Biochemistry, St. John’s Campus

Flexible Assignments is an assessment approach grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Students are provided with flexibility in how they demonstrate understanding of the learning material while maintaining consistent learning outcomes.

In this session, Dr. Todd will explore how she uses this approach in an effort to remove barriers for students who have diverse learning needs, reduce reliance on formal (or informal) accommodations, decrease student anxiety, and increase student engagement through choice and autonomy.

Registration is required for this event.

This event is part of CITL’s Instructor Series. For additional CITL events, please visit our full calendar.
