This session will introduce course instructors to the concept of re-usable assignments. Participants will learn what a re-usable assignment is and how they can implement them in their own courses. A case study will be presented from Dr. De Decker’s sociolinguistics class where students produced short digital media essays on topics related to communication challenges.

During the session participants will hear from a student who created her essay around her personal experiences as a person who stutters. This submission was re-used when it was publicly shared with the Newfoundland and Labrador Stuttering Association for members to listen to and discuss.
