Contemplative Practice Session
Wednesday, Dec. 4, 12-1 p.m.
EN-4032A
Are you involved in a contemplative practice, such as mindfulness or other meditation practice, as a member of the Memorial University community? If so, we would love to connect with you! Drs. Carolyn Walsh (Department of Psychology) and Dan Walker (Department of Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering) are hosting a weekly meeting for members of the university community who have, or have an interest in, contemplative practices from any tradition. The purpose is to provide a time and space for the community to come together and practice whatever form of quiet contemplation is right for you.
The hour will be broken into segments. The first ten minutes will give you a chance to meet people and settle in. We will begin contemplative practice at about ten past the hour for about thirty minutes. The last twenty minutes can be used for discussion or just to resume getting to know others in the community.
If you feel you would like some guidance before joining a session, please email us and come ten or fifteen minutes early. If you would like more guidance or information before joining, we can arrange something at that time or by email.
If you would like to learn more and/or wish to attend, please RSVP to carolynw@mun.ca or dwalker@mun.ca
Please be aware that we are trying this for the remainder of the fall semester and feeling our way along to see if there is interest. The format of the meetings is subject to change, depending on how the community responds. It is our hope that we an provide an informal time for the university community free of obligation or stress.
