Cupids Cove Plantation from the Earth and the Archives

Please join us on April 25th for our annual George Story Lecture featuring William Gilbert, speaking about the historic Cupids Cove Plantation. The Plantation, discovered by Gilbert in 1995, is the first English settlement in what is now Canada. In this talk, Mr. Gilbert will give an overview of how archaeology at Cupids and documentary research at the Bodleian Library in Oxford, the National Archives at Kew in London, and archives here in Newfoundland have enhanced our understanding of this important site over the past 29 years.
