Exploring the EDGE Program: Building Skills for Academic Success and Career Growth
Thursday, May 22, 1-2 p.m.
Online
Memorial University’s School of Graduate Studies (SGS) offers the Enhanced Development of the Graduate Experience (EDGE) program, which provides graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with access to a wide range of professional and academic development resources. EDGE supports lifelong learning at students’ own pace and fosters the development of high-level intellectual skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and ethical conduct.
This workshop will provide an introduction to the EDGE program, including its workshops, programs, and resources. We will explain how to navigate and use these offerings to build broad skills and competencies in areas such as learning and research, management and responsibility, and communication and teamwork. These skills are essential for becoming leading scholars, practitioners, and professionals in various fields.
We will also explore the process of obtaining the EDGE certificate, which can support your success in both academic and professional pursuits. The session will conclude with a Q&A period.
