This event is designed to bring together industry leaders, researchers, and innovators to share insights, explore partnerships, spark new ideas and explore solutions for the challenges of harsh ocean environments. You’ll hear from an incredible lineup of experts moderated by Chris Fevens, Manager of Partnerships and Member Support, Springboard Atlantic Inc..
- Angela Avery, Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (acting), Research Innovation Office, Memorial University. Angela leads initiatives to advance entrepreneurship and innovation across campuses.
- Dr. Thomas Cooper, Professor, Faculty of Business Administration at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Memorial University. Dr. Cooper is a professor of strategic management with research and consulting work that engages directly with emerging ocean technologies, including climate-resilient marine operations, AI-enabled decision systems, and technology adoption across Northern and Indigenous communities.
- Dr. Rocky Taylor, Professor (Ice Mechanics) and the Interim Associate Dean, Research in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial University of Newfoundland. At Memorial, his research focuses on ice mechanics, ship-ice interactions, ice loads on offshore structures and risk-based design.
- Dr. Len Zedel, Professor (and Head) in the Department of Physics and Physical Oceanography. Dr. Zedel’s research activities involve the exploration of oceanographic processes through the use of acoustic systems.
