Pitch and Pick has long served as the pinnacle of Genesis’ Evolution program, where the top start-ups from each season’s cohort compete. Now Pitch and Pick has undergone an evolution of its own.
Genesis is excited to announce the inaugural Pitch and Pick Invitational, an annual pitch competition with a $15,000+ prize purse!
From the companies that completed the Evolution program in fall 2022, winter 2023, and summer 2023, 26 ventures were invited to compete. The top six have now been selected and they will take their turn at the mic on November 15.
This event will showcase how far these six amazing ventures have come over the past year, and you’ll meet those who have hit their first sale milestone.
With more than $15,000 in prizes on the line, our panel of expert industry judges will crown the winner. That founder(s) will walk away with $10,000 for their venture. The audience will also get to have their say by voting for a Community Choice recipient.
Get ready to be part of something amazing…register now!
The event venue is fully wheelchair accessible. ASL interpretation is available upon request, please indicate if you require it in the registration’s follow-up question section. Please note that we require at least 3 business days’ notice to facilitate ASL interpretation. Closed captioning will be available on the event live-stream.
All visitors to the Emera Innovation Exchange at Memorial’s Signal Hill Campus that require parking can use Pay Per Use parking, available via the Passport Parking Canada mobile application or website. Paid parking is available in the middle (lot 200) and lower (lot 201) parking lots. We recommend that you download the parking app to your phone, or visit the website to create your profile prior to this event.
Please note the upper lot is for staff only and requires a valid Memorial parking permit. Vehicles parked in this lot without a Memorial University permit will be ticketed. The St. John’s Campus Parking Office does not issue temporary permits for this location.
There are bike racks located outside the building in the lower (lot 201) parking lot. Metrobus stops are located nearby and provide access to multiple lines connecting different parts of the city. The closest bus stop is about a 10-minute walk from the facility. Please note that the building is located on a hill, and walking conditions can be challenging. Students at Memorial’s St. John’s Campus can book a ride to Signal Hill Campus using the Metrobus On Demand service.
