Intellectual Property Awareness Session and Genesis Evolution Pitch Showcase

Join Genesis at the Bruneau Centre for Research and Innovation on August 1 for a joint session with the Springboard Atlantic IP Advantage team with ice cream, followed by pitches and tacos!

Evolving your Intellectual Property – 2 to 3 p.m.

All IP starts out with a seed of an idea that has the potential to grow into a product or service. Patent agent and lawyer Noel Courage will discuss strategies to create and protect your IP with trade secrets, patents, copyrights and trademarks. He will also share best practices for collaboration agreements with other companies.

Networking Break – 3 to 3:30 p.m.

Following the IP session, drop down to the lower atrium for a networking break with locally made ice cream by Cove Creamery.

Evolution Pitch Showcase – 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The amazing companies in our intensive Evolution program have been working hard for eight weeks. Six of those start-ups have earned an invitation to present their business pitch at the Evolution Pitch Showcase! Each presenter will deliver a four minute pitch. Our panel of expert industry judges will provide feedback and select a winner for Top Showcase Pitch.

Networking – 4:30 to 5 p.m.

Join us after the Showcase for Mustang Sally’s tacos and another opportunity to network with attendees from the local startup ecosystem.
