Interdisciplinarity?

Thursday, Dec. 4, 12-1 p.m.

CSF-1203; online

A Cross-Faculty Roundtable Discussion with Prof. Rick Szostak (Emeritus, U Alberta) on Interdisciplinarity

Whether or not you agree with the idea of interdisciplinarity, this co-sponsored hybrid talk featuring Dr. Rick Szostak this Thursday at noon will be generative. We’ll consider: what does it mean to be “interdisciplinary”? What is at stake intellectually and practically? Prof Szostak will share his recent thinking from *Interdisciplinary Research: Process and Theory* (Sage, 2025) that began with this manifesto.

Responding to Dr. Szostak: Emmanuel Haven (Business Administration & Director, Interdisciplinary PhD Program), Andrew Dixon (ID PhD Candidate) & Kris Poduska (Physics & Associate Scientific Director of Transforming Climate Action).

Location: Core Science 1203, or register for the online link.

Presented by Nexus Centre; Ocean Frontier Institute
