International Astronomy Day
Saturday, May 6, 1-11 p.m.
Johnson Geo Centre
May 6th is International Astronomy Day! The Johnson Geo Centre and the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) St. John’s will be celebrating from 1:00pm-4:00pm. The RASC will have some equipment outside (weather permitting) and a table in the lobby with magazines to give away. In the Celestial Gallery, we will have the planetarium showing 15 minute shows for children and adults. Downstairs, Geo Centre will have a display of meteorites, plus the remote control rovers for kids to try, and a straw rocket activity.
Later that evening, from dusk to 11:00pm, the RASC will be outside for telescope viewing, weather permitting. Geo Centre will not be open during the time.
