This special three-part hybrid seminar course with Dr. Paul Banahene Adjei will address some of the current issues around race, racism, anti-Black racism, critical whiteness, colonialism, Indigenization, and culture. Together, these concepts will draw attention to the historical, sociological, and ideological dynamics that produce, reproduce, and sustain realities associated with race, racism and social identity of difference. We will also discuss strategies to unpack unconscious biases as well as the responsibilities of all members of society to address racism, colonialism, and discriminations in society.
