Leveraging Your Strengths for Career Success
Wednesday, July 24, 1-3 p.m.
IIC-2014, Bruneau Centre for Research and Innovation
“All too often, our natural talents go untapped. From the cradle to the cubicle, we devote more time to fixing our shortcomings than to developing our strengths.”
-StrengthsFinder 2.0
People who focus on their strengths are more productive, happier, and six times as likely to be engaged in their jobs. Gallup CliftonStrengths is a web-based assessment of personality from the perspective of positive psychology. It helps you discover your top talents and offers advice on focusing and developing in those areas personally and professionally. Using the assessment, you will learn more about your unique top 5 strengths during this workshop. Because CliftonStrengths focuses on your greatest opportunities for development and success (rather than on your weaknesses), you can use your reports to tackle things such as your job search, future career plans, and personal relationships.
In this workshop, you will:
• Identify, comprehend, and articulate your top 5 strengths and learn how they resonate with you
• Discover various contexts in which you may describe your strengths (Resume, Interviews, LinkedIn profile, and more)
• Learn ideas for action plans for moving forward with your potential career path(s)
