Rhythm in Blue is an immersive interdisciplinary performance that weaves contemporary dance with jazz and classical music to explore the urgency and wonder of our relationship with each other and the living world. Shaped by an interplay of improvisation and composed structures, the program evokes the textures of climate, land, and body through movement, sound, and language. A collaboration between choreographer Shannon Litzenberger, dancers Nickeshia Garrick, Judy Luo, and Kathia Wittenborn, musicians Christine Carter, Zoë Martin-Doike, Florian Hoefner, Jacob Slous, Jim Vivian, and Madeline Hildebrand, and poet Don McKay, Rhythm in Blue invites audiences into an embodied reflection on collective human and planetary thriving.
