Memorial University Three Minute Thesis Competition 2023

Thursday, March 9, 2-5 p.m.

UC-3015

Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a research communication competition developed in 2008 by The University of Queensland (UQ) in Australia. Research students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance. 3MT is not an exercise in trivialising or ‘dumbing-down’ research, but challenges students to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries so they can be presented concisely to a non-specialist audience. 3MT competition cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills.

Memorial University Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition 2023 will take place on Thursday, March 9th at 2:00 pm at The Landing (UC3015) in Memorial University. To participate, you must currently be registered in a thesis-based masters or PhD program at Memorial University. Graduate students who have defended but have not yet graduated are eligible. Students must not have graduated prior to the date of the competition.

Prizes:

1st Prize: Expenses paid trip to the Eastern Regional 3MT

2nd Prize: $500

3rd Prize: $250

We look forward to seeing you at the event!
