MUNalum 101: Cyber Security

Thursday, Jan. 20, 1-2 p.m.

Online

The recent cyberattack on our provincial healthcare system is one of the most significant in Canadian history. How do these attacks happen and what are the long term effects? How can individuals, companies and employees protect themselves from threats? Memorial University computer engineering professor Dr. Jonathan Anderson (B.Eng.’06, M.Eng.’08), a researcher in computer security and privacy, will explain what hackers are after and what you can – and can’t – do to protect yourself.
