National Indigenous Peoples Day Luncheon

Friday, June 21, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

BP-2000, 208 Elizabeth Ave., Juniper House

National Indigenous Peoples Day will be celebrated on campus and in community on June 21st.  This day celebrates and honours Indigenous Peoples and their unique heritage, diverse cultures, and rich traditions. National Indigenous Peoples Day is held on the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, because it is a culturally significant day for Indigenous Peoples (and many other cultures around the world!). We celebrate by gathering as a community, sharing food and teachings. The Indigenous Student Resource Centre would like to invite the Memorial community to drop by Juniper House at 208 Elizabeth Avenue for a luncheon from 11am – 1pm on Friday June 21. Moose stew and roasted red pepper soup will be on the menu. Visitors must register by emailing isrc@mun.ca. We also encourage Memorial students, faculty, and staff to attend First Light Friendship Centre’s celebrations in Bannerman Park at 2:30pm.

If you have questions or concerns you may also email isrc@mun.ca for more information.

Presented by Indigenous Student Resource Centre; Office of Indigenous Affairs
