Ocean Circuits: An Illuminated Montage on Canvas
Thursday, Aug. 18, 1-3 p.m.
Johnson Geo Centre
Join us in blending art and science to create a unique wall hanging representing our magnificent and bountiful ocean.
Ocean Circuits will be a 1.2m X 1.2m community crafted public art wall hanging that will be illuminated by LED lights and will hang in the Geo Centre’s maker space for all to see, The piece will reflect participants’ knowledge of and feelings about our oceans. Each participant will receive a 15cmX15cm piece of canvas, different media (paints, threads, fabric, markers, beads, etc.) to create their art, plus the tools and instruction on how to light up their art with an LED. Once completed these squares will be pieced together to create an eclectic, illuminated wall hanging of our ocean.
This workshop is offered as part of regular admission, but we ask that you please register in advance, so we can plan the supplies.
