Plastic Forum

Wednesday, Nov. 27, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Core Science Facility atrium

Plastic Forum is an opportunity for research teams working on plastic pollution at Memorial to meet each other and exchange ideas.

Plastic pollution, including the impact of plastic on humans, organisms and ecosystem, is a rapidly expanding field of great interest.

Memorial researchers from numerous departments, including environmental engineering, ocean sciences, chemistry, psychology, geography and medicine, are involved in some type of research on plastic. In addition, two new Banting Fellows at Memorial are working on questions regarding plastic.

The forum will begin with an introduction from our two Banting fellows noted above, lightning talks from the research teams, followed by an interactive poster session.

The event will take place in the Core Science Facility’s atrium. Refreshments will be served.

Presented by Alice (Xia) Zhu, Min Yang, Ina Benner, Yiqi Wang, Uta Passow, Helen (Baiyu) Zhang
