Recital 4: Atlantic String Quartet

D.F. Cook Recital Hall, School of Music

The award-winning Atlantic String Quartet is comprised of the principal string players of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra. The current members of the quartet are Heather Kao and Nancy Case-Oates – violins, Kate Read – viola, and Nathan Cook, principal cellist. The ASQ is an integral part of the creative life of the St. John’s community and is known for its versatility and ability to work with music and musicians from all styles and genres. The ASQ performs around the province and each season presents a 4-concert recital series.

For Recital 4 we are delighted to welcome special guest Emily Dunsmore, French horn. The concert features String Quartet no. 3 by R. Murray Schafer; Entr’acte by Caroline Shaw; and Horn Quintet in E flat major, K. 407 by W. A. Mozart.
