Participants will gain knowledge of current provincial and federal employment law and statutes, employment standards legislation, human rights legislation, health and safety legislation, and worker’s compensation legislation. This session will inform participants how they can stay apprised of changes in employment law and how the legal jurisdiction and associated employment law impacts recruitment, selection, and employment contracts. This includes a specific focus on Human Rights, highlighting the process undertaken in the event of a Human Rights complaint and how HR professionals can be best prepared. Situational practice exercises are used to guide participants through the process of identifying which and how employment laws apply in different circumstances.
Ensure fair treatment of employees and avoid costly legal action in this thorough review of employment legislation and labour standards.
