Research: From Protection to Purpose
Wednesday, Jan. 28, 12-1:30 p.m.
FC3019, Grenfell Campus
Have you ever wondered how your research could move beyond the lab or thesis and create real‑world impact?
The Research Innovation Office (RIO) and Centre for Social Enterprise (CSE) invite you to join us for Research: From Protection to Purpose, a student‑focused session exploring how Memorial researchers can protect, share and mobilize their ideas—while opening doors to innovation, social enterprise and future opportunities.
What you’ll learn:
- How to commercialize your research and protect your intellectual property (IP)
- The do’s and don’ts of sponsored research at Memorial
- Student‑focused programs and supports available through the Research Innovation Office (RIO) and the Centre for Social Enterprise (CSE)
- What social enterprise is—and how it can help turn research into social impact
Whether you’re curious about innovation, planning future research collaborations, or simply want to better understand your rights and opportunities as a graduate student, this session is for you.
RSVP here. Food and beverages will be provided.
You can also connect further with the CSE and RIO teams through workshops, drop‑in sessions, and one‑on‑one meetings throughout the week (details in the link above).
