Monday, May 26, 7-8 p.m.

Quidi Vidi tap room

Join us for one of our last talks before the summer break! We are very excited to welcome Dr. Regular to the Quidi Vidi stage to learn about one of Newfoundland’s jewels – the northern cod! As always, this is a free event and all brains are welcome. Details of the talk are below and on our facebook page:

“Why did Newfoundland’s most famous fish jump from ‘Critical’ to ‘Cautious’ almost overnight? Dr. Paul Regular, a Research Scientist with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, reveals how including capelin and seven decades of data in the stock assessment of Northern cod changed our understanding of the stock and helped reopen the fishery after a 32-year moratorium. Join us at Quidi Vidi for a dive into the science behind the assessment.”

Presented by Science on the Rock; Faculty of Science
