Symposium: Celebrating Institute of Social and Economic Research

The Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) warmly invites faculty, staff, students, and members of the public to join us on Tuesday, April 28 as we celebrate 65 years of fostering, supporting, and publishing research about Newfoundland and Labrador and the broader Atlantic world.
Join us from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm for a morning symposium in the Junior Common Room, R. Gushue Hall, featuring three distinguished speakers closely connected to ISER across its history:
- Dr. Jamie Brake (Provincial Archaeologist, NL)
- Dr. Dona Lee Davis (Professor Emerita, Anthropology, University of South Dakota)
- Dr. Barbara Neis (Professor Emerita, Sociology, Memorial University).
Doors open with light refreshments at 8:30 AM. The program includes presentations, Q&A sessions, coffee breaks, and a book display.
Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend. Free parking in lot 19, with overflow parking in lot 15. Reception to follow in The Great Hall, Queens College from 5:00-7:00pm.
