Join us for a conversation with Dr. Mary Janigan, well-known historian and former policy journalist who spent 30 years writing for Macleans and The Toronto Star.

Dr. Janigan’s book, “The Art of Sharing: The Richer Versus the Poorer Provinces Since Confederation,” examines Canada’s system of transfer payments and the history of equalization in Canada. Dr. Janigan goes back to Confederation to trace the escalating tensions among the provinces across decades as voters demanded more services to survive.
