Tuesday, May 2, 2-3 p.m.

Online

This event is part of the CITL Instructor Series for Spring 2023.

Presenter: Dr. Sarah Martin, Department of Political Science, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

This presentation explores labour-based approach to course work and how it is connected to (and disconnected from), various course assessment practices. The labour-based approach to grading, also called specification or contract grading provides on-going and frequent feedback to the students, but only one grade at the end of the term. In this session, Dr. Martin will discuss how they have incorporated this model into teaching, along with the successes and failures along the way.
