The Science of the Arts: Dr. Stephanie Gallant
Wednesday, June 19, 7-8:30 p.m.
Johnson Geo Centre, Signal Hill
“Artistic Perspectives and Scientific Discoveries: A Symbiotic Relationship?”
Join Dr. Stephanie Gallant for an engaging exploration into the intertwined realms of art and science, as told through her own journey and perspective. Looking into this relationship, we’ll ask: can scientific approaches support artistic endeavours, and can artistic perspectives enhance scientific discovery? Drawing from her dual roles as both a scientist and an artist, Dr. Gallant will illuminate how embracing creativity across disciplines fosters innovation and novel perspectives. We will embark on a journey to uncover these intersections between art and science, challenging the idea that they are separate entities and instead allowing them to coexist.
Dr. Gallant is a postdoctoral researcher at INRS – Institut Armand-Frappier in Montreal.
Admission by donation.
This talk is part of our Science of the Arts Series. 2024 was named the Year of the Arts in our province, and to celebrate we’ve put together this exciting event series that will explore the relationship between Arts and Sciences. Are these two worlds as different as they sometimes appear? Join us as we hear guests of all backgrounds give their take on this interesting intersection.
